hundred and thirty years; and he died’ (Gen. 5:5). All this was bad enough, but Adam’s sin did not stop there; it infected all his progeny in a far more pervasive and deadly way than the HIV virus of some parent today could possibly have on the lives of their offspring. How the consequences of Adam’s sin were and still are transmitted to every generation is a mystery the Bible does not explain, but it leaves us in no doubt as to the profound evil effect his sin has had on every part of our being.
